For bed linen and tablecloths - yes, and in two stages. Industrial washing with detergent removes most dust mite allergens. The laundry then passes through our fully automatic flatwork ironing line, where the roller operates at 180 °C - nothing survives that kind of heat. A home washing machine and iron cannot reach these temperatures. Dry cleaning does kill dust mites but doesn't remove allergens as effectively as washing - which is why we recommend our laundry service for allergy sufferers.

The Estonian Allergy Association recommends washing bed linen once a week at 60 °C - this kills dust mites, one of the most common causes of year-round allergies. For a typical household, a weekly change is enough; if someone in the family has allergies, washing at 60 °C is especially important. Duvets and pillows should be washed every 1–2 months according to the Allergy Association, though 2–4 times a year is sufficient for most households - they accumulate sweat and skin cells even though they don't touch the skin directly. Over 26 tonnes of bed linen and tablecloths pass through our flatwork ironing line each year - but duvets and pillows are the items customers most often forget to wash.
